Lindsay's Eason's local sustainability business GreenStep, is a collaborative sustainability coaching effort between Eason’s business Global Affinity and Green Party nominee Angela Reid’s business Tigress Ventures.
She coaches business owners on how to become more sustainable and how to face Green challenges in work places. For businesses, making use of sustainable business practices can be beneficial in terms of reducing operating costs, building and strengthening a market profile and having a healthy future.
Solutions such as avoiding styrofoam cups, plastic utensils and going paperless can be initiated at the management level or by employees. Small wins can make a big difference and you need to keep people, the planet and profits in mind.
GreenStep uses a Swedish-derived program - ABCDs of the natural step which are:
A - Awareness - being aware that going green is important and beneficial
B - Baseline - knowing what's happening in the company in terms of being sustainable
C - Compelling Vision - integrating sustainability into a mission statement
D - Down to Action - taking ideas into action
It all begins with small steps that can be taken everyday and by thinking "green in your daily routine".
