About the Escape Pollution Project

MISSION:

To provide the local community with a resource that increases their environmental awareness and helps promote a sustainable lifestyle.

Q: What is Escape Pollution?
A: The Escape Pollution project is a local online resource for residents of Kelowna who are becoming environmentally conscious and are looking for information on the eco-options that are available throughout the city. The project features a blog promoting local green news, products and solutions along with tips for eco-friendly living. There is a forums area that is used by the visitors to browse for specific topics and ask questions about local environmental issues and experts from within the city can offer their advice and tips to the rest of the community. There's also a sustainable businesses directory that lists local business who provide sustainable solutions. The Escape Pollution project is also a brand building medium for businesses in the community that are looking to build an eco-friendly image. Visitors can see quickly which companies are environmentally friendly. With businesses striving to be more environmentally conscious, they have an outlet to promote their brand and products.

Q: Why should individuals and companies be involved in Escape Pollution?
A: First, we are working together to build a local resource that will benefit individuals and reduce their impact on the local environment. Also, businesses will be associated with a local project linked to being conscious about environmental footprint. Next, locals can promote their green products and services; with a relationship established, the environmentally friendly products, solutions and actions can be showcased on the site. Also, you can introduce and market your green products and changes in policies to a targeted audience; your company lifestyle changes can be discussed in the blog and in the forums. It is hoped that this site will become a point of interest through many discussion circles from which traffic will be generated for your site.  Global and local visitors will see the brands on this site and  this exposure becomes a great brand builder for the company. New marketing tactics will be explored to bring visitors to the site using today's marketing toolkit to generate buzz including word of mouth, viral marketing, local and national media and social marketing.
Q: Can I sponsor and how much does it cost?
A: Yes, companies can purchase sponsorship and the cost is based on the "Name-Your-Own-Price" (NYOP) model where the sponsor specifies a monthly price for a sponsorship spot on Escape Pollution; and the price is either matched or negotiated with a return offer. We understand that different companies have different budgets when it comes to promoting their brands. That is precisely the reason we have introduced this model where even the smaller companies can promote their products and services without paying too much of a premium. In addition, companies can be creative in their offered price for brand exposure. If a normal monthly subscription method is chosen as compensation then payment can be made easily and securely using PayPal. The sponsored ad on the site will potentially be seen by thousands of people locally, and in surrounding areas.

BC Travel Guide
"We are anticipating a high level of response from our ad spot on Escape Pollution. Compared to other advertising sites, it is very economical and we are glad that we have one of the first spots. As popularity increases, so will the price. We are looking forward to increased brand recognition and traffic for our own site."
